Does vegetable oil refined glycerine contain any remnants of animal fat (grease)?
No, it should not, or it couldn't be called “vegetable oil” glycerine.
Could tallow base (beef fat) refined glycerine be kosher certified?
No, never. Rabbinical law does exclude this.
Which kosher certification is more convenient as to its use application, i.e. (K)or (U)?
It is our understanding that both certifications, among others, are widely accepted and used in North America.
Can you offer technical grade refined glycerine?
We don't import such a grade per se, but all our tallow and vegetable grade glycerines USP min. 99.5% could be used.
Does biodiesel generated vegetable grade refined glycerine meet kosher requirements?
Yes, as long as a proper kosher certification has been issued. However, it is a must that no exposure to or mingling with animal fats occurs during production or storage.
What is the net weight of glycerine content in each metal drum?
Typically, it is 250 kgs. net expressed as 551 lbs. net in our documentation.
What is the permissible glycerine net cargo load in a stainless steel bulk iso tank?
Typically some 44,000 lbs. (approx. 4,200 gals.), but this could vary from time to time, depending on prevailing overweight regulations.
Is all your tallow base refined glycerine BSE-free?
We make EVERY effort to source from reputable plants that use BSE-free tallow only. To date, none of our manufacturing facilities has registered any problem. To the best of our knowledge, all our factories have taken adequate steps to safeguard this important issue.
